Amara's life is going to be a fairy tale. She even has one picked out - Fairer-than-a-Fairy - which is, admittedly, obscure, but she's sure that the guardians would agree that she's a perfect fit for the tale. Or, at least, she's sure until her father comes home from war with a rose. And a bargain with a beast over her life. She can say no, of course, but she's found herself in the tale of Beauty and the Beast. She has to play her part if she wants her happily ever after.
