This is the first volume of what is intended to be a complete translation of one of the major classical works of traditional Sunni Islam. Widely considered as the finest commentary on the greatest book of hadith, Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani's 'Fath Al-Bari' has long been considered the most reliable reference work on Sahih Al-Bukhari. This volume includes biographical entries for Imam al-Bukhārī and Ibn Hajar, from classical works by al-Sakhāwī and al-Khaṭīb al-Baghdādī’, as well as Ibn Ḥajar’s Hādi al-Sārī, whose partial translation includes an introduction to Fatḥ al-Bārī, as well as a biography of Imam Bukhārī. This leads to the commentary of Books 1, 2 and 3 of Sahih al-Bukhari. The work is supplemented by four indexes making it easier to search by subject.
