About the book: Terror has claws and sharp teeth, but horror breeds in loathsome minds. A monster possesses Jamie Fisher, one with claws and sharp teeth. After waking in the Nevada desert, not sure of who she is or how she got there, her key to survival lies in traveling with a dangerous guy named, Ray. A trust develops as they both flee across the state, running from Rays own troubled past and blindly heading into Jamie's. Ray will have to face new monsters and Jamie will have to embrace her own if she wants to save Ray and herself. It is a bloody mess, and only the feral will survive.

Erin Cole grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where dusty combines, water skipper-filled rivers, and shadowed forests were her playgrounds. She has worked an eclectic range of jobs, spanning salsa making, to international warehousing, and helpline counseling for the Alzheimer's Association. After obtaining her B.S. in psychology, Erin naturally progressed into penning mystery and horror. In 2009, her short story, "Unspoken Bonds", made the Preliminary List for the Tom Howard / John H. Reid Short Story Contest, her non-fiction essay, "My Compass", received honorable mention in the Willamette Writers Kay Snow Writing Contest, and "The Wall of Never Doubt," won 10th place in the Writer's Digest 80th Annual Writing Competition. Still, she is most proud to have readers who enjoy her work. She has been published in various anthologies and online print magazines, such as Niteblade Fantasy and Horror, Liquid Imagination, and Dark Eclipse, with more forthcoming in Fantasy Scroll Magazine and Space Squid. Currently, she is working on her third novel, 'Dead in the Forest' (working title). She is the author of the Kate Waters Mysteries, 'Grave Echoes' and 'Wicked Tempest', the novella 'Feral Things', and the short story collections, 'After Dusk', 'Of the Night', and 'Between Feathers and Fins'. She resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband, three children, and one terribly, cute dog, Cosmo.
