This volume contains two books by acclaimed by Irish writer James Joyce, author of Ulysses, considered the best novel of the 20th century. The books are:

• Exiles, a theatrical play. Finnegans Wake, is significant for its experimental style and its reputation as one of the most difficult works of fiction in the English language. Written in Paris over a period of seventeen years, and published in 1939, two years before Joyce's death, it was his final work. The book is written in an idiosyncratic language, a mixture of standard English lexical items and neologistic multilingual puns and portmanteau words. Some critics believe attempts to recreate the experience of sleep and dreams.
