Tyler loves Hailey, but will that love survive the secrets of her past? While fulfilling her probation by volunteering at a homeless mission center, Hailey Carson, makes friends with Marly Matthews who introduces her to Tyler Jacobs. Marly knows the truth about Hailey’s past DWI conviction, but promises not to tell anyone else on the volunteer team. The longer Hailey is around Tyler, the more she begins to care about him, but because of her failed past relationships and probation, she doesn’t want to get involved with another man. Tyler is attracted to the young woman who is nothing like the wealthy, selfish girl to whom he was engaged. Although she learns a lot about his life, he can’t get much information about her. When he tells her he has no patience with drunk drivers because one laid him up for months and killed his best friend, he can’t understand why she is suddenly very cool towards him. Devastated by what he has told her, she tries to stay away from him, but he eventually makes his way back into her life. She manages to keep her secret hidden until an old friend, Veronica Weston, who also happens to be Tyler’s ex-fiancé, runs into them at a restaurant and exposes who Hailey really is. After Hailey confesses her past and the fact that she indeed was cited for a DWI, Tyler is furious and storms out of her life. She is angry that he kept his previous relationships quiet, but still longs to see him again. The one bright spot is her reunion with her family for Christmas as a part of the steps in her AA program. It’s the perfect time for love and forgiveness, and Hailey’s parents welcome her with open arms. When Tyler realizes forgiveness is the only way he can be happy, he sets aside his anger and goes to Hailey were he finds that forgiving Hailey brings a gift of love for the future on Christmas Eve.
