Kamuran Şipal’ın Türkçesi ile sunduğumuz ‘’Genç Bir Şaire Mektuplar’’ Franz Xaver Kappus’a yazılan on mektuptan oluşuyor. ‘’…Rilke ile düzenli mektuplaşmaya başladık. 1908’e kadar sürdü mektuplaşmalarımız, sonra yavaş yavaş arkası kesildi; çünkü yaşam beni alıp Rilke’nin sıcak sevecen ve duygulandırıcı çabayla beni uzağında tutmak istediği alanlara savurmuştu. Ama önemli değil burası. Önemli olan bu kitaba alınmış on mektuptur, Rilke’nin nasıl bir dünya içinde yaşadığının, yapıtlarının nasıl bir dünya içerisinde yarattığının bilinmesi açısından değil ayrıca gerek bugün yeni yetişen gerek yarın yetişecek olan kuşaklar bakımından önemli olan on mektup.
