Gordon was a splendidly smart engine and he was proud of his neatness so when he was ordered to go to the docks to complete an assignment, he was not too happy as he thought he would get dirty. Things all go wrong and Gordon ends up on a branch line and eventually crashes. But he is rescued, repaired and returns to his immaculate self!
