What hides behind the mask? Diner owner Sonja Reed is hard at work planning her very first big Halloween Bash—a masquerade ball. She’s looking forward to holding the party at the elegant and mysterious Smith Manor. Half the town has been invited, and Sonja has whipped up quite an array of tasty treats for the occasion. When an accident occurs at the manor, before the party, Sonja is warned that it might be a bad omen, and is urged to cancel the event. Ignoring the warning, Sonja holds her party anyway, and a gruesome discovery of a body casts a funereal pall on the evening's festivities. Realizing that there might be some truth to the omen, Sonja sets out to solve the murder and also piece together some odd paranormal clues…which seem to point directly to her. This Halloween will prove to be Sonja’s spookiest yet…and it may well be her last.
