Part of Series

Springtime comes to Sweetfern Harbor once again. Sheffield Bed and Breakfast are readying the season for celebrations. Jonathan Wright who owns the Boat Rental business begins giving cruises along the Atlantic Ocean. Brenda is happy he has added this activity since it benefits her bed and breakfast business. Jonathan takes a group of cruisers as far as Beacon Lighthouse. Four of his passengers opt to be left there until he will return to pick them up. In the meantime, partiers on a yacht also dock at the landmark. One of their passengers wants to spend time at the lighthouse. Her friends promise to return in half an hour to pick her up. The young woman waves and within fifteen minutes vanishes. Suspicions arise and are directed at one or more of the four guests of Sheffield Bed and Breakfast who opted to visit the lighthouse. Detective Mac Rivers and his wife Brenda began processing every possible clue as to what happened to the young woman. Mac doubts it all happened at the lighthouse since her body was found washed up on the sand near the bed and breakfast. In the meantime, the wine and cheese party continues until an older guest and amateur photographer snaps a photo on the beach. Rosetta Sanders hurries to find the Detective and Brenda. They follow her to a dilapidated rowboat anchored on the beach. Next to it, there is the body of a young woman. In the midst of many lies, false identities and conflicting stories, they began to narrow down the list of suspects. The problem Brenda notes is though there is viable evidence to tie to the killer, she doesn’t feel it will hold up well in court. They need more. Two people come to the forefront. One is reluctant to state he witnessed something and the other one professes she participated in something she didn’t understand. There remains the dilemma about just who is being truthful and who is not.
