After Satyn Yates is left an orphan at thirteen years old and forced to live with an aunt and cousin who treat her as if she’s nothing, young Satyn is forced to fend for herself. Tired of the constant back and forth, she cries for help and runs into a charmer, Cupri Davis. After a while, Cupri’s home becomes Satyn’s safe haven and along with that, feelings start to develop. Making a promise to get her out of the ghetto, Cupri finds himself in a web doing things he never thought he would, making their dreams of a way out come true. But times change, people change, and nothing ever stays the same. Five years later, they’re both just looking for ways to give back to the same ghetto that raised them. But when Cupri’s other half gets in the way of his friendship with Satyn, will he be able to remember the man he is trying to become? Ari Jacobs, Satyn’s best friend has one weak spot and his name is Gunna. But she knows her and Gunna will never work out. After all, he’s married and has no intentions of ever leaving his wife. When she finally realizes her worth, Ari stumbles into the path of someone who sees her value. But will Gunna stand in the way or will he let Ari finally find happiness, even though it’s not with him? The sun never sparkles in the ghetto, but if you have a heart the love will always shine through.
