The novel that later became famous as *Way Station*, in its original appearance as a two-part serial in GALAXY. You are getting the June and August 1962 issues (it was a bi-monthly at that time), both complete. ~ ~ Enoch Wallace lived on the family farm in backwoods Wisconsin. He looked like a normal human being, although no one could recall his ever leaving his property. There were, however, some curious facts about Enoch ~ ~ Records showed that he was a Civil War veteran, over 120 years old, but showing no signs of aging. His house was invulnerable. No weapon known to man could penetrate it. In his family cemetary a tombstone inscribed in an unknown language guarded the grave of an alien horror. ~ ~ Enoch Wallace was the keeper of Intergalactic Way Station #18327. His job was to maintain communication with alien races, to pass them through Earth, and to prepare his fellow humans for their inevitable meeting with other races of the Universe.
