Part of Series

Fiona Walker has her hands full and her heart on lockdown. Between juggling three jobs and keeping a careful routine for her autistic son, Jamie, Fiona doesn’t have time for surprises. Her world runs on color-coded calendars, meal-prepped Mondays, and exactly three hours of sleep. So when a kind-eyed cowboy shows up out of nowhere and starts calming Jamie’s meltdowns like he’s some kind of miracle worker, well, that’s not part of the plan. Rhett is quiet, steady, and oddly good at just about everything—from whittling toys to winning Jamie’s trust with old-fashioned stories that feel like something out of another century. Because they are. He’s not just a good guy—he’s a time-traveling cowboy summoned by a glowing Christmas card Fiona found tucked inside a box of donated decorations. Fiona doesn’t believe in magic. She barely believes in lunch breaks. But Rhett is turning their little apartment into something that feels a lot like home. And when Jamie looks at him like he hung the moon, Fiona starts to wonder if maybe love isn’t a luxury—it’s the one thing they’ve been missing all along. In Evergreen Springs, some Christmas cards don’t just bring joy… they bring the family you never knew you needed.

Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write. She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze. Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone. She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
