2016

JaKia Green is a young, feisty teenager, growing up in the city of Atlanta, Georgia in the year of 2033. Jamie and Serene Green try their best to give their children the life that they didn’t have growing up, but the more they try to shelter their kids from harm’s way, it seems like the more their children go searching for danger. Though JaKia is given everything a child could ever want, her heart, mind, and soul crave the one thing that she can’t have—her adoptive brother, August Carter Green. Tired of their daughter’s disrespect for household rules, JaKia’s parents send her away to a boarding school overseas, Brookshire House in London, England. There, JaKia meets a handsome yet annoying overachiever by the name of Prince White. Torn from her loved ones and brokenhearted, JaKia turns to the comfort of a dance team known as the Flip Squad. Though JaKia puts all of her hurt energy into trying to do something that will make her family proud of her, she cannot escape the repercussions of her actions. Just when you thought it was safe to say that karma missed Jamie Green, here she comes.

Just when Ja’Kia was getting used to the fact that Brookshire House was about to be her home for the next year or so, Ja’Kia’s hurtful past comes back to haunt her. A stormy night at The Haven—a community center where Ja’Kia often volunteered—ends in Ja’Kia giving birth to a baby in the toilet. Though Ja’Kia fought with every ounce of strength she had to resist Prince’s arrogant charm, she couldn’t help but notice that Prince was there when she needed comfort most. Prince is confronted with a few issues of his own. After a head injury, Prince finds himself unable to wreak havoc on the soccer field. Despite his grumpy demeanor, Ja’Kia is determined to stay by his side. And Prince finds himself drawn to the fact that a girl he had only known for a few months, paid very close attention to what mattered most to him. Unable to keep his feelings to himself any longer, Prince confesses his feelings to Ja’Kia at the homecoming dance. The undeniable attraction between Prince and Ja’Kia catches team captain, Princessa’s attention. Princessa refuses to let Ja’Kia outshine her both on and off the dance floor.
