Fantasy stories with teeth This quarter’s issue is all about dangerous women: the kiss that draws blood, the claws that drag you under, the eyes that turn you to stone. We’re talking transformations, love stories, revenge, tragedy and a bit of horror. Some of the creatures you’ll encounter in these pages are terrifyingly monstrous, a cautionary tale for children who stray too close to the water. Some of them are dangerous without even realising it. But some are just as human as we are, just as dangerous, and they blur the line between human and monster as they transform from one to the other. We’re also bringing you an interview with swashbuckling indie author DN Bryn, three reviews of indie novels from our review team, and flash fiction from the winners of our recent competition, all on the theme of Mermaids & Mythology. So dive right in. There’s plenty here to sink your teeth into.
Author

I have always written stories, but it wasn't until I started the first book in the Solis Invicti series in 2014 that I really became obsessed with writing. I love to read, particularly where the escapism of the story is enhanced with an element of fantasy or science fiction. For me, writing is simply an extension of that journey, but I get to decide what happens next (though it's amazing how often the characters seem to decide for themselves what I'm going to write!). I love to hear from readers, so please do get in touch through my website or via Twitter. Thank you for reading!
