Science Fiction is a brilliant genre because anything can happen. It's a sandbox mode for humanity, letting us imagine possibilities and examine reality. We can have a front-row seat for war, espionage, and invasions. But sci-fi isn't just about strife. It's about wonder and hope, too. Intersections is a collection of eight feel-good stories that show those bright spots. Some stories do have happy endings, and there is reason to hope. An unexpected alien first contact. A down-on-her-luck teen tries to make good. A doctor must choose between career and friends. A reptilian runaway fights against the shackles holding her down. A trader does what's right, even when people expect him to do wrong. The Dragonfire Station series shows how an empire can fall. But even in the midst of chaos, there are stories of triumph. These stories, which are unseen by the battling titans, nonetheless create ripples that affect far greater outcomes. There are no minor characters. Everyone is the hero of their own story. Dive into Dragonfire Station, where things are always more complicated than they seem. This is a universe of well-developed characters who carry the weight of the galaxy on their shoulders. But they're no superheroes. They're just flawed, complex people willing to do what they do best—which is kicking butt—for the good of the alliance. It's a good day for an adventure. From the Author History tells of great civilizations that have fallen, but little is said about the process of the fall. Dragonfire Station shows the struggles, triumphs, and humor of people living in a civilization in peril. The first three Dragonfire Station books show, from one person's perspective, how such a fall begins. Translucid, Fragments, and Coalescence are Fallon's birds-eye view of how it all begins. The next part of the story focuses on Cabot, a trader with a view of the seedier parts of life and a secret desire to do some good. His Mercenary Warfare series forwards the overall story, but stands on its own—just like Cabot himself. This is an immense character-driven universe with intersecting plot lines and characters that arc independently—as is the case with real life. Zen DiPietro has plans for multiple spinoff series, which will continue publishing after Mercenary Warfare is complete, and will also stand on their own while fitting into the larger mosaic of the Planetary Alliance Cooperative. Books in the Dragonfire Station series in chronological order: Dragonfire Station Book 1: Translucid Dragonfire Station Book 2: Fragments Dragonfire Station Book 3: Coalescence Intersections: Dragonfire Station Short Stories (Note: This collection contains stories that span a time period well before the beginning of Translucid, stretching into the time period of Fragments.
