Reune todos los poemas publicados en libro por Mario Benedetti entre 1950 y 1985, incluyendo los del Viento del Exilio y Geografias. Algunos poemas que fueron transformados en canciones, figuran en sus dos textos: poema y cancion. Como explica el propio Benedetti, el volumen se abre con la produccion mas reciente y concluye con la mas antigua.

All the poems in this work are those that the author has published between 1995 and 2001. Some poems that were later made into songs appear in both versions. As in the previous Inventario books, this one starts with the most recent poems and concludes with the oldest, perhaps with the hopes that the reader, by having access to this work through the newest and nearest door, will soon be tempted to open other doors, as if doing an inventory.
