One snowy day a big grumpy bear is roused by the sound of jingly jangly sleigh bells and rushes outside to find out who has so rudely awakened him. He finds a group of happy animal friends tucked into one-horse open sleighs; they are going on a long ride complete with merry songs and thermoses of hot cocoa. The animals invite the bear to join them and offer him a cup of hot chocolate, something he's never tasted before. Happily, the cocoa not only warms his tummy but also his heart and he stops feeling grumpy and agrees to join his new friends on a lovely winter's day adventure. Off the group goes, singing the traditional song "Jingle Bells." The sweet story is enhanced by truly beautiful, lovingly detailed illustrations by Joe Ewers. The words and music for the familiar song are printed on the last page of the book.
