La chose qui m'est la plus chère... c'est le journal que je n'ai tenu que huit mois, sur un cahier à 900 yens, à compter de juin 1979. Je l'avais commencé après en avoir lu un, publié par un auteur, et avoir trouvé l'idée intéressante. Lorsque je relis aujourd'hui mon propre journal, je trouve ça si amusant et émouvant que les larmes me viennent. J'y retrouve celui que j'étais autrefois... et mes amis d'alors... C'est sans doute cela qui me touche...

He is a recipient the Tezuka Award for manga.
