Back to the beginning for a minute... In late October, the U.S. Army deployed a team of elite soldiers from their Special Forces Command at MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa, Florida to just below the border between North and South Korea. The world was becoming tense, and the military's Chiefs of Staff were moving strategic units to distant places to thwart any problems. During their helicopter insertion to their bunker, the North Koreans detonated short range non-nuclear EMP weapons ahead of their troops coming to invade and conquer South Korea. Most of Donovan's team meld with the soldiers already there to fight the onslaught of invaders. If they survive, they realize they'll have to fight their way through the entire length of South Korea to get to Busan, and hopefully find a ship or a plane ride back to the west coast of America. Then they'd still need to travel thousands of miles to reach their wives, families, friends, homes, and the base that deployed them... if they're even still there!
