L'italiano Alfredo Lusarno è un ricco fazendero, la cui fattoria prospera nel territorio africano della Costa D'avorio. Accanto a sè, compagno d'avventure e di cacce, c'e' l'amico Antao, e la vita sembrerebbe scorrere tranquilla fino a quando un fatto, un furto alla fattoria, e una terribile vendetta, non vengono compiuti dal negro Kalani, al servizio di Alfredo. La vendetta giunge sotto forma del rapimento di Bruno, fratellino di Alfredo, che rischia di diventare un *sacrificio umano* per le feroci tribù di cui Kalani è gran sacerdote. L'inseguimento e la lotta, possono dunque cominciare, mentre la vegetazione equatoriale si apre in tutta la sua prosperità agli occhi degli uomini che la invadono.
