What do you say to a woman who has a shotgun pointed at you? Hardware store owner Jarl Hendricks had barely begun his vacation and he was already bored. So when Jarl decides to finally explore an island in the middle of the lake, he expects adventure—not a small woman, her son...and a shotgun leveled at his chest! Long sworn off men, Sara Chapman is in hiding. She thought she'd found the one place on the planet where she and her four-year-old son, Kip, could never be traced—a wreck of an old clubhouse on a small island. And Jarl's unwelcome appearance could ruin everything. But never able to deny her son anything, Sara allows Jarl to return, again and again...until she realizes how much she needs him, too. Now she must send Jarl away—before her little secret destroys them all.
