Deux gardiens de but s’affrontent dans cette romance de hockey où ennemis rime avec sexy. Ryu Mori sort d’une saison phénoménale en tant que remplaçant pour les Venom d’Atlanta. Au point que lorsqu’il se fait convoquer dans le bureau de la direction, il s’attend à être promu au poste de gardien principal, certainement pas à se voir présenter une bleusaille mal élevée et beaucoup trop canon bien décidée à lui piquer la place. Rares sont ceux qui ont la chance de jouer dans la plus grande ligue au monde. Emmitt Armstrong le sait pertinemment et il n’a pas l’intention de manquer l’occasion qui se présente à lui, pas après avoir tout donné pour en arriver là. Si les Venom s’attendent à un petit nouveau timide et docile, il leur réserve une sacrée surprise. En ligue des champions, c’est le vainqueur qui rafle la mise. La vie ne se résume toutefois pas à une série de victoires ; si Emmitt et Ryu réussissent à mettre de côté leur ego et leur compétitivité, ils pourraient découvrir qu’ils forment une bien meilleure équipe qu’ils n’auraient pu l’imaginer…
