When Anna married Ian and became a mother to his daughter, Jessie, she knew she was taking a risk. She was aware of his past: of his former wife, Hester, whose campaign of harassment had ended when she was sectioned. But only when the menacing phone calls and vitriolic letters begin to come does Anna catch a chilling glimpse of Hester's world… A world where Anna is the enemy, the monster who stole Hester's husband and child. For Hester has quite forgotten the true facts. Ian had wanted a normal life; he had had enough of intensity and darkness. Yet, living with his small family in a beautiful house in Cornwall, he has not been happy. Now, the drama he had secretly missed is back. Maybe he needs a reminder of the past, to show him how lucky he is. Crazy, unpredictable and on the loose, they daren't imagine what Hester would do if she could find them…. Where is she now? And how long will it be before she comes to retrieve what she believes has been stolen from her by Anna? 'Listening to Voices' is a cleverly written crime thriller that will chill readers. Praise for the author: ‘A gripping thriller which is guaranteed to chill the blood’ ( Western Morning News) ‘A beautifully written tale.’ – Belfast Telegraph ‘Thoughtful and compelling storytelling’ – Choice Sara travelled as a child, went to many schools, ending her education in a strict Catholic convent in Malta while her parents lived in Cyprus. Much of my life has been as a gypsy without roots. I travelled as a child, went to many schools, ending my education in a strict Catholic convent in Malta while my parents lived in Cyprus. I was set on an acting career and after working as an ASM in The Theatre Royal Windsor I won a place at the London Academy of Music and Drama. My acting career was brief. I went off to Germany, Norway, Sharjah, then on to Singapore and Malaysia as an army wife. I kept journals of my time in the Middle East and my first novel, Falls The Shadow, (now out of print) was published by a small independent publisher. Eventually, tired of an itinerant life, I moved to Cornwall and put down roots. Having secured an agent, my next two novels Listening to Voices and The Sleep of Birds were published by Headline. Sea Music was published by Harper Collins to critical acclaim, followed by Another Life, The Hour Before Dawn and Come Away With Me. At the end of 2009 I took the decision to take time off to travel. I visited Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and lived for a year in Karachi, Pakistan. The result is a new book, set in Pakistan.
