It was supposed to be one fun-filled week sailing in the Bahamas. Timid Libby, Allison the beauty queen, sisters Sarah and Annie, and Shawn the artist, each aboard the Sea Breeze with different expectations of the trip to come. But none could foresee that this trip would become the greatest adventure of their lives. Huzzy, their skipper, is an island girl, eager to show them the beauty and wonder of the place she calls home. But without warning, the Sea Breeze is rocked by a violent storm. Huzzy struggles to control the boat, when suddenly the rudder snaps, leaving them at the mercy of the wind. What began as a vacation soon turns int a battle for survival for six young girls...adrift.

The girls have been shipwrecked for nearly four months. They have made a temporary home on the island and have even begun to build a boat, to try to save themselves. So far, the girls have managed to avoid all the island's perils—unexpected sinkholes of quicksand, poisonous plants, and dangerous creatures that inhabit the surrounding ocean. But can they finish the boat before some unforseen disaster occurs? And even if they do, will they be able to navigate the boat back home—six young girs...alone?
