Love and Decay
Boy Meets Girl
2013
The Zombie Apocalypse couldn’t be more boring.
For the last two years Hendrix Parker’s life rotated in a constant routine of fighting Zombies, finding a place to spend the night and keeping his family safe. While all those things were admirable pursuits, they had begun to blur together in monotonous gray lines and a haze inducing fog.
He had let the world he lived in turn him into as much of a Zombie as the creatures he fought day in and day out.
Until his perfectly tedious world is thrown into upheaval with the arrival of two girls shopping for eyeliner.
Reagan Willow and Haley Gable tumble into the Parker’s lives with helpless charm and sarcastic cynicism and the boys can’t help but feel the strong need to protect them.
Especially Hendrix, who can’t ignore the irresistible pull Reagan has on him. She’s everything he never thought he would find, and the shot of life that digs him out of the corpse-like stupor he’s fallen into.
She might not feel the same way, but that won’t deter Hendrix from pursuing her. Maybe there’s nothing more than friendship between them, but their futures are now entwined, one way or the other. Hendrix has enlisted his brothers and young sister into joining Reagan’s journey south because he refuses to let the most beautiful thing at the end of the world out of his life.
Just as long as they can escape the Zombie horde alive first.

Now, they’re road-tripping south together, in the hopes of escaping the Apocalypse riddled world they live in and finding some peace on the other side of the equator. Hendrix and Vaughan make some things easier with their ample supply of weapons and ability to scout out safe places and travel unharmed. But then some things are more difficult with two gorgeous, protective boys working hard to convince Reagan she needs them.
But who has time for feelings when there are scarier things to worry about? When they run into an outpost of militia, their futures might be decided for them. Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.
Tyler Allen was a victim of the Zombie Apocalypse just like everybody else. But unlike most people, Zombies were just the start of her personal hell. As Feeders ran wild in every other part of the country, she lived a relatively Zombie-free life, but one in which the infection threat was traded for the loss of her freedom and the man she loved.
Tyler’s dad is Matthias Allen, leader of The Colony. And a man Tyler would do anything to escape. When she hitched a ride with the Parkers, she knew it would be temporary. Like her dad, she knew how to use a means to get to a better end. She would learn to survive from them, learn to fight, but in the end she would take her brother and leave. They weren’t part of her bigger picture.
As the group takes their time in Tulsa, stocking up on supplies and resting for a bit, Tyler reluctantly begins to feel attached to Page and her brothers as well as Reagan and Haley. If it weren’t for her dislike of Vaughan, her life would be as close to perfect as it had been in a long time.
Still she’s wary to trust people and anxious to be on the run again.
When Feeders wander too close to home, Tyler learns just how much she’s grown to care for this brave group of people and how much hope and belonging a few trustworthy souls can make her feel.
Until an unwanted visitor shows up, desperate for help and needing refuge. The group agrees to help him, because what else can they do? But Tyler has to wonder if she can ever really escape the nightmare of her past.
