Kaat De Kock was born in 1975 in Bornem (Belgium). She studied Germanic language and literature and works as a freelance editor and translator for various media. She lives with her husband and daughter in Antwerp. In her free time, she reads a lot, likes to eat (and drink) with friends, regularly goes on a city trip, scores dresses at flea markets as cheaply as possible and studies Danish. In addition to young adult books, Kaat also writes the follow-up story 'Lies' in Flair and the annual summer story for the same magazine.
