Kaitlyn Ashton is leaving on the morning train to become the mail order bride of Russ Kensley, a North Dakota farmer, when a friend from the past arrives, begging her to take her illegitimate eight-month-old baby boy and give him a normal life. Fearing for the child’s safety, Kaitlyn agrees, though she doesn’t have time to notify Russ. When she arrives with the baby, Russ is surprised but welcomes them both.
