"Nonviolence is the answer": With powerful words and peaceful actions, Martin Luther King Jr. led the way. He roused blacks and whites alike to work for a world without racism and segregation. In response, he was beaten, spat on, humiliated, and threatened. He was jailed twenty nine times, and his home was bombed. Yet even his assassination could not stop the tidal wave of change. What influences and experiences shaped America's civil rights hero? This action-packed and inspirational story of his life takes readers into the heart of civil rights activism and King's towering legacy.
