After the breakup with Levi, Peyton went back home to try to live without him. Except, the modern world makes that difficult when she can simply Google his name to find out how he's doing. When she comes across a particularly shocking headline, the urge to run back to Levi and Dirty Affliction grows stronger. Two months later, Levi returns to her instead. Once they've thoroughly re-claimed their relationship, he finds out that Peyton's mother used her name to take out a loan and Peyton needs to pay thousands back. He pays the debt without her permission, which causes yet another rift between them ... until Peyton apologizes, and he surprises her with a diamond ring. It's an extension of their happy for now story in Lyric, and it's a story about love, life, and learning that the past belongs in the past.
