A hurting veteran, the woman he loves, and the rescue dog who needs him. Convinced that busying himself with setting up a new business will help ease the lingering pain of war, Sergeant Trent Roland packed his bags and headed for the big city. But when his aunt asked him to put his construction skills to use rebuilding the storm-damaged Wounded Warrior Rescue dog shelter, he couldn’t turn her down. Now he’s back in the small seaside town he used to visit as a child—the same town where he met and lost his first love. Struggling to find steady work, single mother Olivia Malone will take any honest job that will put food on the table. When an old friend offers her a position on the repair crew rebuilding the local dog shelter, she jumps at the opportunity. The last person she expected to see on her first day on the job was the first man who ever broke her heart. It might be awkward, but she’s not going anywhere. She has a job to do and a paycheck to earn. Things heat up at the Wounded Warrior Rescue when Trent and Olivia decide if taking a second chance at love is worth the risk. **Special Hard Cover, Large Print Edition** Binge the full Wounded Warrior Rescue series by Kristen Iten ** A sweet, small-town, second chance, wounded warrior romance series where everyone finds their happily ever after... even the dogs! Kristen Iten is a night owl-ish author, and mother of three happy little owlets. She spends her working hours solving mysteries, bringing evil doers to justice, and meddling in the love lives of her imaginary friends. She suffers from an over active imagination, but doesn’t really mind because it helps with the whole ‘writing books thing’. She lives in a cute little town, in a cute little house, with her cute little family, and couldn’t possibly be happier. MY REVIEW POLICY: As an author, I understand how valuable reviews can be. In the past, I enjoyed reviewing books. That being said, if I couldn't leave a review with a 4 or 5 star rating I wouldn't review at all. I never downgraded a star rating based on my personal reading preferences. It is easy to spot a book that an author put a lot of thought and heart into. If I found that a book was well crafted, I happily left a positive review whether the book was written in my preferred style and genre or not. I do not review books anymore now that I am an author myself.
