I’m Sunny Shaw, and regardless of what my name might suggest, my world has become rather dim as of late. With a bankrupt business to save, homeless kittens that need rescuing, and a new business partner distracting me with every glance, there seems to be a disaster waiting at every turn. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, a murder literally lands on my doorstep—or at least the corpse does. Now I’m struggling to figure out which problem to solve first! My business partner seems to want to share more than our lease, but I have to take that step very slowly. Of course, I can’t in good conscience leave the kittens to wander the streets. Then again no business means no money.

It’s no secret that, I, Sunny Shaw, am a magnet for mayhem right here on beautiful Blueberry Bay. So, when a woman goes missing just before the grand opening of Shakes and Cakes, I think…it could be worse. And of course that’s exactly what happens when missing turns into dead. It's hard to cry over a disastrous opening when there's a murderer running around and things aren't about to get any easier! Oh my, Jasper, how will we ever juggle my nasty neighbor, a stalker, a murderer, finding homes for kittens AND serving the best shakes and cakes in Pineville? The answer to that million dollar question might save my business but can we shake things up to keep my friends out of jail and me alive to see another day?

I’m Sunny Shaw and, lately, trouble is my middle name. Things are close to normal again when someone dumps a tiny box of kittens in my lap. I figure I’ll get them back to their mother and go about my business. No harm, no foul. Except, I never expected to stumble over a body. Nor did I think a ten-year-old girl would be the only witness to the murder. Even worse? There’s a rare bird worth a fortune somehow mixed up in this mess. Ruffling a few feathers is the least of my worries, especially since my goose might get cooked if I don’t hurry up and solve this case. Come on, Jasper. We have kittens to take care of, a little girl to protect, and a killer on the loose. Surviving this one will take all of our smarts.
