Adam “Grizz” James and Brick Hammer are at home in the Rocky Mountains as the end of winter nears. They hear scratching at the door, grab their weapons, and prepare themselves. A dog seeking shelter from a pack of wolves is on the other side. They shoot the wolves and shelter Lola, the abandoned dog. When Lola has a puppy, Brick is overwhelmed by his new friend. Lola had taken to Grizz that first day. Both mountain men instantly fall in love with their new dogs. Now, everywhere they go, they have their four-legged friends with them. When a Blackfoot war party seeks to stop Jimmy White Bear from building a homestead on Grizz’s mountain, everybody’s world is thrown into turmoil—especially that of Victoria Brandyberry. The home she had dreamt of may go up in flames. Then, Brick Hammer is kidnapped and threatened by the same Blackfeet Indians that are after Jimmy for killing so many members of their tribe. The war party is only a few miles from White Bear’s homestead, and they demand nothing less than Jimmy White Bear’s life!

Ash Lingam is an Amazon Best Selling Author. He has written over one hundred novels and short stories in the Western genre. He has published nine series about the Texas Rangers, US Marshals, and Bounty Hunters, and his new additions to the Frontier & Pioneer Western Fiction—the Mountain Men series. Ash was born on a ranch in the Midwestern United States. It was during a time when Westerns were magical both at the movies and on television. As a boy, he collected Indian arrowheads in the fields and rode his horse, Sugar, in the woods as he played cowboys and Indians. From age twelve, he hunted to put food on the family table when his grandpa, Pop, gave him his first double-barrel shotgun—at eight taught him how to trap in our ponds and the creeks at the end of our property. Growing up in the country with horses and guns made the transition to an author of the Old West an effortless journey. Some say Ash Lingam is the fastest writer in the West. Ash says; When inspiration hits me, from when I open my eyes in the morning until I fall asleep at night, I let my fingers dance across the keyboards, anxious to see what will happen next in the story in my mind’s eye.
