Anyone who knows anything about Texas knows there is precious little that’s more important than football. Pro football, college football, peewee football, it doesn’t matter. If it’s an egg-shaped ball, Texans are all over it. But there is one very particular football – this is the ball that a former Texas Tech Red Raider caught during last year’s Super Bowl game and ran into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. As footballs go, it doesn’t get much more important than this. The ball was donated to a charity auction and expected to fetch a pretty sum. Until it disappears. Salem and Viv are on the hunt for the missing football and the reward money that goes with it. At least, Viv is on the hunt. Salem has all she can handle not freaking out about the mud run she’s signed up for. But she feels about reward money like the rest of Texas feels about football. If she can manage not to humiliate herself during the Mud, Sweat, and Tears Run (a mighty big if) she might just score some points of her own.
