Kim Delorme is uninterested in the world beyond her computer screen, instead living on a diet of video games, early 2000s Internet videos, and fads. It's not long before she discovers mukbangs, a voyeuristic world where people overeat in front of the camera. Intrigued, she throws herself into the ring to challenge the reigning queen, Misha Faïtas. But a horrifying incident halts her ascension, creating a shock wave that affects everyone in her life. Fanie Demeule est titulaire d'un diplôme de doctorat en études littéraire de l’UQAM, où elle est chargée de cours. Elle travaille aussi à titre de responsable éditoriale pour les éditions Tête première et Hamac. En 2016, elle a publié Déterrer les os (Hamac), nominé et lauréat à plusieurs prix, adapté au théâtre (CTD'A, 2018), traduit en anglais (Lightness, Linda Leith, 2020) et en cours d'adaptation filmique (Coop Vidéo). Elle a fait paraître un deuxième roman, Roux clair naturel (Hamac, 2019), et a signé des nouvelles dans des revues et collectifs littéraires.
