LA Private Investigator Johnny Merak accepts the diminutive Charles Henning as a client, little realising the danger he will face... But soon, when a series of brutal gangland murders begins, Lieutenant O’Leary, leading the police investigation, is not pleased to find Johnny Merak at each of the murder scenes. And it seems that Henning had been there too! Both the police and Johnny want to question Henning—but the little man has disappeared. And the murders continue ... John Glasby was born in 1928, and graduated from University with an honours degree in Chemistry. He started his career as a research chemist for I.C.I, in 1952, and worked for them until his retirement. During the early 1960s, Glasby wrote dozens of paperback westerns, all of which were reprinted in hardcover and paperback four decades later. Following his retirement from I.C.I., Glasby produced a steady stream of new westerns, science fiction and crime novels, right up to his death in 2011.

John Stephen Glasby (23 September 1928 – 5 June 2011) was a prolific British author whose work spanned a range of popular genres. A professional research chemist and mathematician, he produced over 300 novels and short stories during the 1950s and 1960s, most of which were published pseudonymously under the Badger Books imprint.
