Ned Cassidy was taking the long way toward nowhere in particular when he was shot at, out of the blue. After a long, sleepless night, he tracked down the man doin' the shootin' and shot back. Upon delivering the man's body to the sheriff's office in Red Butte, Montana, he was offered the job of bounty hunter. Why not? He needed a job, anyway.
