When CIA assassin Aiden Jackson is trapped between a bathroom wall and a hard man, he chooses the hard man, much to his surprise. Aiden doesn’t want to admit he’s gay, but his first stumble into man love leaves him disoriented, searching for answers and desperate to find the truth. He covers his real desires by dating an ultra-hot girl, but it’s the guy sitting a few tables away that draws his attention. Super nice and attractive Doctor Trace Williams is so special he seems like an angel to Aiden. Their first kiss blows Aiden away. That Trace sees into his soul, even when Aiden is trying to hide everything, pisses him off. Aiden needs Trace in his life, but once Trace finds out the truth about Aiden’s job, will they have any part of their relationship left? What would you do if your lover ripped apart the very foundation of what you believed? If you like hot doctors, sexy agents, and awesome spies, then you'll love Sara York's hot tales of passion, intrigue, and espionage in this fast-paced romantic suspense. Author Q&A Q - Where did you come up with the idea for Not That Type of Guy? A - I love this book. Not that type of Guy is based off Beauty and The Beast. Yes, Aiden is super sexy, but inside, he believes he is disgusting. His soul has been damaged by being an assassin. He thinks he’s too damaged to be loved, thus he’s a beast. Trace Williams is pure. He’s the good guy that is almost too good to be true, especially when compared to Aiden. This story delves deep into how each character feels about himself and what he is willing to accept. Q - When you were writing this story, how did you go so dark? A - Music sets a mood for me. I picked a couple over very dark songs and listened to them over and over again. I plotted out the story then wrote in a compressed timeframe during NaNoWriMo, waking long before the sun came up and going to bed late. Q - Did you feel comfortable writing about a CIA Assassin? A - It was an interesting exercise in research. I had to go down some rabbit holes, searching for information. Of course, I took a few liberties and built Aiden’s house of lies very carefully, but hours of police classes, mixed with crime classes for writers went into this book. Q - Speaking of research, how do you research for a thriller? A - Like I mentioned above, I’ve taken a lot of classes. I’ve spent over 300 hours in police, FBI, crime, and medical classes learning techniques. I’ve gone to workshops presented by ex-assassins—yes, there are some out there—and I’ve been open to traveling long distances to gain a small amount of knowledge. I think being an author is an awesome adventure, and part of that is because I’ve worked hard to find adventures to go on, supplementing my knowledge and learning new things. Q - Who do you like better Aiden or Trent? A – Since this story delves into how the beastly character changes, I focused on Aiden. I focused on getting into his head and learning what made him tick. He is a spy and assassin, so he’s built differently than just the average person, but he’s still a good person. Deep down, he is fighting for right, even if his methods are questionable.
