November – Being the Queen is not actually all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it’s a horrifically lonely gig. I’m surrounded by people constantly, and not one of them gives a damn about who I really am, or what I want. Well, no one except Benson. I doubt anyone would be surprised to learn I was having an affair with the stable boy. But the nation would be shocked if they ever found out I was falling in love with him. Such things are just not done…especially by royalty. Benson – November Denali is my queen, and it is my duty to serve. I never meant to fall in love with her. I was warned from the very beginning of our relationship that we would never be more than clandestine lovers, and I accepted that bargain. It had seemed worth it at the time, just for the opportunity to be near her. But now, we both want more than we’re able to have together, and I don’t see how either of us will ever get out of this with our hearts intact.
