Filipa Fonseca Silva was born in Barreiro, Portugal, in 1979. She graduated in Communication from Universidade Católica, but ended up in advertising, working as a copywriter until 2017. Her debut novel, “Thirty Something – Nothing’s How We Dreamed it Would Be” (2011) turned her into the first Portuguese author to reach Amazon Top100 and gave her international projection. The book was followed by “The Strange Year of Vanessa M.” (2013), “Things a Mother Discovers (and no one talks about)” (2015), “Amanhece na Cidade" (2017), "Odeio o Meu Chefe"(2018), "O Elevador" (2022) and "E se Eu Morrer Amanhã?" (2023) She’s an activist for the environment and women’s rights and loves to write about ordinary people and their timeless dilemas. She lives in Lisbon with her husband and two children.
