Fashion buyer Prudence Washington's Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless is on the verge of fiasco when not enough volunteers show up. The situation goes from bad to worse when local NFL quarterback Michael "Speed" Hunter and his teammates arrive with their PR director in two. Speed thinks they're saving the day and doing Prudence a favor, but she doesn't appreciate the media circus and loudly lets him know it in front of news cameras. Her on-air outburst is mistaken for a lover's quarrel, and the public frenzy begins.
