Crossroads, Oklahoma may seem like a charming little town back in 1961, but it is secretly peppered with mystery and intrigues. Just as the story opens, we find Rainey Grimes peering through a window dreaming of a beautiful life she knows she can never have only to be propelled into a future that seems equally impossible to live.
