Tired of playing the maiden aunt, Matilda Agnes McGillicuddy resorts to a matchmaker; she has the funds to do so but lacks the social circumstances to find a suitable spouse on her own. She seeks an older man of comfortable means who enjoys entertaining and is not especially interested in having children. Each writes to Mrs. Agatha Sinclair, little knowing that the famed matchmaker’s cat has interfered in her clients’ affairs.
