Authors

H.G. Ewers was the pen name of Horst Gehrmann, a German science fiction author. After working as a car salesman, he started to study medicine in Halle in 1956, but eventually became a high school teacher instead. He fled East Germany shortly before the Wall was erected, and in 1962 published his first novel, 'Intrige auf Chibbu'. Two years later, he wrote his first Perry Rhodan novel, and ended up writing several hundred issues for the franchise. In the 1990s, he decided to study medicine once more in Basel, Switzerland. He died at the age of 83 in 2013 in his adopted home town of Weil am Rhein.

Peter Terrid was the pen name of Wolfpeter Ritter, a German science fiction author. He studied English and History to become a teacher, later switching to History, Sociology and Political Science. During his college time he started writing and published his first novel, 'Das Pendel der Zeit', in 1970. In 1974, he started working with the 'Perry Rhodan' booklet franchise, and became part of the permanent staff two years later. In 1980 he became a writer for the fantasy series 'Mythor'. He died in Cologne in 1998, shortly before his 50th birthday. His pseudonyms when writing for other projects included John Catlin, Jerry Cotton, Pierre Lykoff, Patricia Wynes, and Patrick Wynes.

Kurt Brand was a German science fiction author who wrote almost a thousand novels over his career, mostly in pulp booklet form. He wrote under a number of pseudonyms, including C. R. Munro, Buster Brack, Conny Cuba, Cherry Moss, Lex Porter, and Lars Torsten.


Horst Hoffmann is a German author, also known under the pen name Neil Kenwood. He studied art history and economics in his youth before deciding to become a writer. His first novel was published in 1976. He started working on the Atlan series, and in 1982, his first Perry Rhodan booklet novel was published (#1076). His stories were often satirical in nature. He announced his retirement from the Perry Rhodan writing team in September of 2009.

H. G. Francis was the pen name of Hans Gerhard Franciskowsky, a German science fiction author. He was part of the Perry Rhodan franchise's main writing team from 1971 to 2004.


Peter Griese (1938 - 1996) was a German science fiction author, best remembered for his contributions to the Perry Rhodan franchise. Having discovered science fiction in his school days, he studied engineering and served as an officer in the military before retiring to become a freelance writer in 1986. He had become a member of the Perry Rhodan writing team six years earlier, and oversaw several different aspects, including the 'Atlan' sub-series and the Report section of the magazine. Griese died of heart failure at the age of 57, while working on his last Perry Rhodan story, 'Flucht durch Bröhnder'.

Hubert Haensel is a German banker and science fiction author, best known for his work with the Perry Rhodan franchise. He has written for numerous story magazines in the crime, horror and fantasy genres, and has been a part of the Perry Rhodan writing team since 1995. He has written under the pseudonyms, George McMahon, Jan J. Moreno, Hubert H. Simon, and Irving Simon.
