Ary Nilandari was currently honored as IKAPI Writer of the Year 2022, and her Garuda Gaganeswara won the IBBY Honour List of 2022 for its high quality in writing. She is the author of over 70 books, in which she celebrates diversity and universal values and promotes Indonesian cultural heritage. Some of her works won national and international awards. She was once a freelance translator and editor for a decade before focusing mainly on children/teen content. She is one of the advisors of Forum Penulis Bacaan Anak, the biggest online community of Indonesian children’s book creators. She has worked with national institutions, such as Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi, Indonesian Commission of Corruption Eradication, to develop a series of children’s books on integrity and anti-corruption values; also with IKAPI, the association of Indonesian Publishers, as a speaker/trainer on editing and writing craft. Her passion and goal are to see Indonesian children have fun reading more quality books written primarily about them and for them.
