Thirteen dark tales of terror from horror author Chad P. Brown. Included in this collection are previously published as well as new stories. "Drop Dead Tavern" – Stopping at a bar in the middle of the zombie apocalypse, Kent only hoped to find a bottle to drink away the pain of his brother’s death. But what he finds inside will turn an already screwed up world upside down. "The Writing in the Web" – When Laura Ann learns from her grandfather the legend of the writing spider, she will discover the true meaning of arachnophobia. "De Mortuis Viventibus (Concerning the Living Dead)" – A Roman standard bearer recounts to his brother in a letter not only the slaughter of the Roman legions in the Teutoburg Forest, but also the horrors he experienced in his attempt at escape, terrors born from the witchery which haunts the cursed land of Germania. "Mary-Go-Round" – Every Saturday, a grandfather visits a merry-go-round to relive a haunting memory from his past. "The Peepers" – Twin sisters Kelly and Karen discover the terror known as the Peepers which lurks inside their Aunt Dorothy’s house. "Giggles" – Eight-year-old Hailie comes face to face with her favorite clown, Giggles. "Mama Had a Baby and Its Head Popped Off" – Rick finds out that some childhood games can be deadly serious. "The Basement" – On a dare from her best friends, Heather goes inside the town's haunted house. While she is inside, she is confronted by a ghost from her past, her mother who died accidentally one year ago. Now, Heather must not only escape from the evil lurking inside the house, but from the demons of her own past. "First Time" – As the zombie apocalypse begins, a man holds on to one single hope: the return of his dead wife. "Home Sweet Home" – An abusive husband tries to put his disobedient wife back in her place. She, however, has had enough. "Eli’s Game" – Vicky loses her brother at a carnival. Eli, a carny, knows where he is, but Vicky must first play his game...or else her brother dies. "Charon’s Feast" – A man is condemned to die in gladiatorial combat. But his opponent in the Games of the Undead is a nightmarish horror. "Delicious Torment" – Sean plays a gig at a bar set up by his cousin. He meets the bartender, R.J., a woman who will redefine his lustful appetites.

Chad P. Brown was born in Huntington, WV. Once he outgrew his childhood fears of haunted houses, clowns, and toy monkeys with cymbals (although those still creep him out a little bit), he discovered a dark love for writing and an affinity for macabre and eldritch matters. He holds a Master's in Latin from Marshall University and is an Affiliate member of the Horror Writers Association. In October 2011, he released his first horror novel, The Jack-in-the-box. He has appeared in the anthologies SPIDERS (August 2012 by May December Publications) and Gothic Blue Book Vol. 2 - Revenge Edition (October 2012 by Burial Day Books). His current projects include a recently released zombie novella, Messiah of the Zombie Apocalypse, and various short stories, as well as a dark fiction novella, The Pumpkin House, which is in submission.
