Gianfranco Ravasi (Merate, 1942) è un cardinale, arcivescovo cattolico e biblista italiano, teologo ed ebraista. Dal 2007 è presidente del Pontificio consiglio della cultura, della Pontificia commissione di archeologia sacra e del Consiglio di coordinamento fra accademie pontificie. Cardenal italiano, presidente del Consejo Pontificio para la Cultura y de la Pontificia Comisión de Arqueología Sagrada. Fue ordenado sacerdote de la archidiócesis de Milán el 28 de junio de 1966 y estudió en la Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana y en el Pontificio Instituto Bíblico.
