M/M paranormal - The race is on for Jerry to get to Zeb. Will he reach him in time before the dragon reappears and snatches him away? Or does fate have other ideas in store? Taken to the shack on the pier in a most unconventional way, Jerry discovers a more sinister scenario than he had envisaged. Despite loving Zeb desperately, Jerry must decide whether he can handle this new, odd lifestyle and all it entails. “Close your eyes,” Francois instructed. Fear laced his voice, so I opted not to question his request and scrunched my eyes shut. A frosty whiz of air smacked my face. The urge to open my eyes teased me, and I tried, but ice had sealed them. The cold stung my eyeballs, and I prayed that the heat from my body would melt my iced lashes. No such luck, as what I could only imagine was a vortex swept me up and jostled me airborne. If that wind stops, I’m going to fall. Breeze hands carried me, and fear of what we’d find at our destination ensured a scream froze in my throat. Terror ground into my stomach, scoffed its lining, bringing pain and insecurity. The breeze hands shunted me up then forward, the speed of our journey relentless. How far away was this bloody shack? With an abrupt jolt, the vortex released its grip, and I plummeted downwards, the cold air so frigid against my face, my hands. I landed—hard—and struggled to prise my eyelids apart. They wouldn’t move. A thud beside me levitated my backside for a moment, and I thumped back down for a second time. Pain seared my tailbone, and I gritted my teeth until they hurt. A male grunt and exhalation sounded loud, echoed all around me. Please let that be Francois… “You can open your eyes now.” “I would, but they’re iced closed. Where the hell are we? Have we come to the shack? I want to see Zeb.” Hot breath enveloped my face. My eyes popped open. I blinked and peered into the dim light. The shack—more like a small house—loomed in the distance at the end of the pier. Desperate to see Zeb, I leaped to my feet and, unheeding of Francois’ yelled warnings, ran down the planked walkway toward my lover. My world. My life.
