The Midnight Marauder faces his greatest nemesis. Butch "The Butcher" Granger escapes from Huntsville State Penitentiary leaving a trail of bodies behind. He is intent on making good on his threat to kill everyone who had a part in putting him in prison. Granger also swore he would kill their families. John Crudder, the Midnight Marauder, sets out to stop him. In the final battle, Crudder faces The Butcher at Purgatory Creek. As the bullets fly, Crudder comes to the end of the road and is shot multiple times. Making good on his promise, Granger's executioner goes to the H&F Ranch to kill Charlotte Crudder and their twin daughters. As a fourth-generation Texan, he has lived in Texas his whole life. He loves everything western. Most of all, he loves Western culture.
