James and I gave the kids full creative control over nearly every aspect of the story as a way to help them learn writing and illustrating skills. The book represents our combined efforts, is an introduction to the Ranch City Academy series, and we will continue doing a book per year with these kids. It was a lot of fun to get their feedback on every aspect of the project!
