He came to Raven’s Cliff for peace. What he found was a woman with secrets—and a target on her back. Kash Sinclaire never planned to retire. After two decades in the military—first as a Ranger, then as a K9 handler in a combat rescue unit—slowing down wasn’t in his DNA. But Raven’s Cliff, Oregon, with its quiet crags and cold surf, offered something he hadn’t known he needed—stillness. Joining Raven’s Watch, the town’s elite search and rescue team, is the easy part. Asking out Jordan Archer? Not so much. The guarded waitress from the Lighthouse Café is sweet, careful, and way too skilled at handling trouble. Kash knows there’s more to her than small-town charm—her reflexes are military sharp, her lies too practiced. But he figures whatever she’s running from can stay buried. Until it doesn’t. When a hit team rolls into town, Kash doesn’t hesitate. He doesn’t care who Jordan used to be or why men in tactical gear are hunting her. What matters is that she’s his now—and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Because somewhere between their casual coffee dates and waking up with her in his arms, she’s become everything he never thought he’d have. And Kash Sinclaire doesn’t lose what’s his.

Kris sees herself as somewhat obsessive and feels she tends to push the boundaries of common sense sometimes. Her friends graciously see her as passionate and adventurous. After all, speed limits are only a guideline and shouting is just her way of rising above the chaos. Kris loves the outdoors. If she's not on her computer—or chasing after her three kids—she's out on a trail somewhere, either running with her dog or riding her mountain bike. Kris took up adventure racing a few years ago, and tries to enter one or two races every year. Kris started writing some years back, and it took her a while to realize she wasn’t destined for the padded room, and the voices chattering away in her head were really other characters trying to take shape. (And since they weren’t telling her to conquer the human race, she went with it.) Kris loves writing erotic novels. She loves heroines who kick butt, heroes who are larger than life, and sizzling sex scenes that make you squirm in your seat, and leave you feeling just a bit breathless. Award-winning author Elle James grew up as an air force military brat. She received her work ethic from her rock-solid father, her creative streak from her artistic mother and inspiration from her writing partner and sister, Delilah Devlin. As a former member of the army reserves and a current member of the air force reserves, she's traveled across the United States and to Germany, managed a full-time job, and raised three wonderful children. She and her husband have even tried their hands at ranching exotic birds (ostriches, emus and rheas) in the Texas hill country. Ask her, and she'll tell you what it's like to go toe-to-toe with an angry three-hundred-and-fifty-pound bird and live to tell about it! Her adventures in the army and air force reserves, and the wild antics of her life on a small ranch in Texas give her fodder for mystery, suspense and humor in her writing. Elle writes gothic, paranormal mystery for the Harlequin Intrigue line and paranormal romantic comedy for Dorchester Publishing. A former manager of computer programming and project management professionals, Elle is happy she now has the opportunity to pursue her writing full time.
